Bookkeepers in Connecticut can apply to work remotely as independent contractors with MCC Solutions.
How it works
Bookkeeping work from Connecticut
The work is a monthly close for small business clients: categorize transactions, reconcile bank and card accounts, and send clear reports, in QuickBooks Online, Xero or the software the client already owns. We are a young firm and take a limited number of contractors, so we do not promise a volume of work. We do not have an office in Connecticut, and the work is done online. The larger cities in Connecticut that our pages cover include Hartford, New Haven, Stamford.
If you live near Bridgeport or elsewhere in Connecticut, you can work from home; finance, insurance and real estate lead by GDP, education, health and social services lead by employment, and manufacturing, especially aerospace and defense are among the sectors in the state.
What you need
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero or similar software
- Comfort with monthly reconciliations and clear client communication
- A computer, a reliable internet connection and a private place to work
- Willingness to keep client information confidential
- A W-9 and a signed independent contractor agreement
- Familiarity with Connecticut filings is a plus, not a requirement
What it pays
Pay and terms
Rates are discussed on a short call and confirmed in writing before you take on any client. We do not have a posted rate. This is independent contractor work with a 1099 at year end, and you choose what you accept.
This page is not legal advice. Honest note: we are a young company, and we keep the team small so the contractors who join early get the work as it grows.
FAQ
Connecticut bookkeeper contractor questions
Do I need a certification?
No certification is required. List any you hold, and we weigh them with your experience.
What Connecticut filings come up?
That depends on the client. Sales tax, payroll and annual filings for a Connecticut business are confirmed with the client or their tax preparer, and we do not give tax or legal advice.
Is there work right now?
We cannot promise any. We add contractors a few at a time as clients come in, and we would rather say that plainly.
What does it cost to join?
Nothing. We never charge to apply or to join.
