MCC Solutions takes on experienced bookkeepers as remote independent contractors. If you work from Indiana, you can apply here.

How it works

Bookkeeping work from Indiana

Contractors keep small business books current each month: categorizing, reconciling accounts and producing reports in QuickBooks Online, Xero or the client's own software. We are a young firm and take a limited number of contractors, so we do not promise a volume of work. We do not have an office in Indiana, and the work is done online. The larger cities in Indiana that our pages cover include Indianapolis, Fort Wayne.

If you live near Indianapolis or elsewhere in Indiana, you can work from home; a diversified economy, historically led by auto, steel and pharmaceutical manufacturing, shifting toward services and high-tech industry are among the sectors in the state.

What you need

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero or similar software
  • Comfort with monthly reconciliations and clear client communication
  • A computer, a reliable internet connection and a private place to work
  • Willingness to keep client information confidential
  • A W-9 and a signed independent contractor agreement
  • Familiarity with Indiana filings is a plus, not a requirement

What it pays

Pay and terms

Rates are discussed on a short call and confirmed in writing before you take on any client. We do not have a posted rate. This is independent contractor work with a 1099 at year end, and you choose what you accept.

This page is not legal advice. Honest note: we are a young company, and we keep the team small so the contractors who join early get the work as it grows.

The Indiana Department of Revenue lists a 7% state sales tax rate. A return is required even when there was no activity, and late returns carry a penalty of up to 20% (minimum $5). That depends on client demand, and we do not promise it.
