Bookkeepers in Kentucky can apply to work remotely as independent contractors with MCC Solutions.
How it works
Bookkeeping work from Kentucky
Each client engagement is a monthly routine of categorizing, reconciling and reporting, done in QuickBooks Online, Xero or whatever the client already uses. We are a young firm and take a limited number of contractors, so we do not promise a volume of work. We do not have an office in Kentucky, and the work is done online. The larger cities in Kentucky that our pages cover include Louisville, Lexington.
If you live near Louisville or elsewhere in Kentucky, you can work from home; auto manufacturing, energy production, medicine, tourism and bourbon production are among the sectors in the state.
What you need
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero or similar software
- Comfort with monthly reconciliations and clear client communication
- A computer, a reliable internet connection and a private place to work
- Willingness to keep client information confidential
- A W-9 and a signed independent contractor agreement
- Familiarity with Kentucky filings is a plus, not a requirement
What it pays
Pay and terms
Rates are discussed on a short call and confirmed in writing before you take on any client. We do not have a posted rate. This is independent contractor work with a 1099 at year end, and you choose what you accept.
This page is not legal advice. Honest note: we are a young company, and we keep the team small so the contractors who join early get the work as it grows.
FAQ
Kentucky bookkeeper contractor questions
Do I need a certification?
No certification is required. List any you hold, and we weigh them with your experience.
What Kentucky filings come up?
The Kentucky Department of Revenue lists a 6% sales tax rate. We confirm your filing schedule and due dates on your own MyTaxes account. Familiarity helps, and we confirm the details for each client.
Is there work right now?
We cannot promise any. We add contractors a few at a time as clients come in, and we would rather say that plainly.
What does it cost to join?
Nothing. We never charge to apply or to join.
