How it works
How it works
The script checks first that assets equal liabilities plus equity plus cumulative net income in every month and warns you plainly if they do not. Then it builds the monthly P&L with margins, the balance sheet, an indirect-method cash flow that must reconcile to the actual change in cash, working-capital and margin ratios, and month-over-month flags for accounts that jumped by more than the percent and dollar amounts you set. Pure Python with no installs.
FAQ
About this calculator
What does the input file look like?
A CSV with period, account, type and amount. Types are cash, ar, inventory, fixed_asset, accum_depr, ap, long_term_debt, equity, revenue, cogs, expense and a few more, all explained in the script. A demo shows an example.
What if my trial balance does not balance?
The report starts with a warning showing the gap for each month. It is better to find the problem than to build statements on it.
Is this a substitute for my accountant's statements?
No. It is a tool for building working statements from your own numbers. Have a professional review anything you give to a lender, investor or tax authority.
Is anything saved?
No. The math runs in your browser and nothing you enter is sent to us.
Is this tax or financial advice?
No. It is a calculator for general information. Check the numbers against your own records, and ask an accountant before you act on them.
