When you can book
Need a notary after work, on a weekend or on a holiday?
A session over video does not depend on a storefront being open. What matters is whether a slot is free, whether the office that gets your document is open, and whether your document is ready.
Matthew Coleman, NJ Notary Public and NNA Certified Loan Signing Agent. Cranford, NJ. Fee confirmed before your session. Card charged only after it is complete. We aim to confirm within 15 minutes, 7am to 9pm.
How booking times work
Remote online notarization sessions are booked into time slots shown on the booking page. Those slots are the real availability: if a time is listed, it is open, and if it isn't, it isn't. Evenings and weekends are shown the same way as weekday mornings.
A session takes about half an hour once you are on the call. Gather the document, your photo ID and your device before the slot, because the clock starts when the notary joins.
Check the other end first
The notary is rarely the bottleneck at night. The question is whether the bank, title company, agency or court that receives the document will act on it before the next business day. If nobody opens it until Monday, a Saturday session gains you nothing, so ask when they will look at it.
If a lender or closing deadline is the reason you are booking late, tell the desk the deadline when you book so the plan matches it.
Extra fees on odd hours
Fees for evenings, weekends and holidays, if any apply, are shown before you book and confirmed before the session. Nothing is added on the day without your agreement. Look at the total on the booking page rather than assuming.
What a late session cannot fix
Documents that must be paper. A receiving office that requires a physical stamp cannot be satisfied by an electronic seal at any hour. See RIN vs RON.
State offices. Government offices that file or certify your document keep weekday hours even when the notary does not.
Missing pieces. Arrive with every page complete and still unsigned, an unexpired photo ID, and anyone else who has to sign.

FAQ
Common questions
Can I book a notary online on a Sunday?
You can book any time slot the booking page shows. Sunday slots appear there the same way as weekday slots.
How fast can a session start?
The earliest available slot is shown when you book. Booking and being on the call within the same day is often possible, but the page decides, not a promise here.
Is there a holiday charge?
If a charge applies for a holiday it is shown with the total before you book.
Do I need to be in New Jersey?
No. The signer can be elsewhere. The notary has to be physically in New Jersey, and the receiving office has to accept an electronic notarization.
