Who it is for
People who live or work in the District applying to ONCA, new DC notaries finishing orientation and the oath, and DC notaries seeking IPEN or remote endorsements.
Not the right fit if
You aren't applying in the District of Columbia: get your own state's kit. It doesn't replace the required New Notary Orientation.
Why it is different
- Explains the four DC commission types and the letter each needs.
- Uses the D.C. Code journal rule that applies to every act.
- Lays out the IPEN-then-remote endorsement order.
What is inside
- Commission type, orientation and the 60-day window. Who qualifies, the letter of request, the $75 fee, the provisional notice, bond and oath.
- $5 per act, ID, bound journal and seal. ONCA's fee limit, 1-1231.06 identification, the journal every DC notary keeps, and seal contents.
- IPEN and remote endorsements, and 1-1231.25. The $30 endorsements, being in DC, 10-year recordings and the exact advertising statement.
- ONCA application checklist. Application, provisional notice, bond, orientation, oath and renewal window.
- District cost planner. The $75 application and $30 endorsements filled in, with ONCA's bond and supply estimates.
- 1-1231.18 journal worksheet. Columns for each entry the D.C. Code requires, including the signer's signature.
