Who it is for
Households that want a plan they can keep up with in Excel, with irregular bills such as insurance, car registration and holidays spread across the year.
Why it is different
- The bill calendar shows which months are heavy so a yearly bill does not surprise you.
- Sinking-fund amounts are worked out for you from the yearly bills you list.
- A filled example for a made-up household and a blank copy with all formulas working.
What is inside
- Start Here. How to use the workbook in about ten minutes a month.
- Setup. Your categories, groups, income sources and the bills that repeat monthly, quarterly or yearly.
- Budget. Planned income and spending for each of the twelve months, with the money left to assign.
- Actuals. What you actually earned and spent, entered by month.
- Month View. One month at a glance: planned against actual, with a plain sentence on whether you are over or under.
- Year View. Twelve months by group with a savings rate, average monthly spending and two charts.
- Bill Calendar. Each bill by due month and day, the total due each month, and a sinking-fund amount to set aside monthly for yearly bills.
- Checks. Flags categories left blank, months that do not balance and bills with no due date.
