Who it is for
Small business owners and bookkeepers who paid employees or contractors in more than one state in 2026 and need to file 1099s, W-2s and state year-end forms in January 2027.
Not the right fit if
Not filing software and it does not e-file for you; it tells you which state forms and dates apply and logs what you filed. Some states' rules are marked unconfirmed with where to check.
Why it is different
- Covers all 50 states and DC from each state revenue department's own pages and IRS Publications 1220 and 5718, checked November 2026.
- Separates states that accept the IRS combined program from states on the IRS list that still want a direct filing.
- Marks anything a state's page didn't say as 'not confirmed' instead of guessing.
What is inside
- Filing workbook (Excel). Payee list that suggests the federal form and reads each payee's resident and work state rules, a dated January 2027 calendar for only your states, a filing log and the full state rules table.
- Start here. What's inside, the federal rules the kit uses, your first hour, and why state dollar triggers aren't the federal $2,000.
- State-by-state filing checklist. Every state and DC: state 1099 copies, the IRS combined program, 1099 and W-2 due dates, the year-end form, all 2027 dates and each official page.
- W-9 and contractor information log. What to collect before the first payment, a contractor log with resident and work states, and a follow-up table for missing information.
- Filing confirmation log. One line per federal and state filing with the confirmation number, plus a corrections and notices table.
