Who it is for
Small business owners, office managers and bookkeepers who run payroll for hourly or tipped staff in any state where the minimum wage changes in 2027.
Not the right fit if
Not a payroll service and not a list of city or county rates; if you have staff in a city with its own minimum wage, check that rate too.
Why it is different
- Covers all 50 states and DC from the US Department of Labor and each state's own pages, checked November 2026.
- Rates not yet announced are marked 'Not announced', never estimated, with a cell to enter them when the state publishes.
- Counts overtime at time and a half on the new rate and checks tipped staff against the tipped cash wage.
What is inside
- Payroll rate change workbook (Excel). State picker with 2026 and 2027 rates, dates and tipped cash wages; a staff list that shows each raise, the weekly cost and the cost for the rest of 2027.
- Start here. Your first hour, and every state's 2026 and 2027 rate, effective date, tipped cash wage and local-rate flag.
- Rate change checklist. Eight weeks out to the first payroll after the date, mid-year states, and a split pay period worksheet.
- Employee notice and poster update log. A fill-in pay change notice, a log of who was told, and a record of each poster and payroll change.
- Tipped staff worksheet. How the tip credit works, the 2027 tipped cash wage by state, and a weekly shortfall check.
