Power of Attorney Signing Kit: Signing Checklist by State, Agent Duties and Record-Keeping Guide, Agent's Transaction Log and Agent Ledger
Sign it right in your state, then keep the records an agent is expected to keep.
$12 one time · Word and PDF · download link by email
Who it is for
Families helping a parent or relative sign a power of attorney, and agents who now manage someone else's money and need a clean record of every transaction.
Not the right fit if
Not a power of attorney form and not legal advice; use your state's official form where one exists and have a lawyer review it.
Why it is different
- Covers all 50 states and DC from each state's statute site, court self-help pages or state agency, checked November 2026.
- Leaves a rule blank rather than guess, and links each state's official form instead of drafting a power of attorney.
- The ledger's running totals, category totals and monthly check recalculate with zero formula errors.
What is inside
- Agent ledger (Excel). Date, transaction, category, amount, for whom and receipt reference, with running totals, money in and out, a missing-receipt flag, category totals and a monthly statement check.
- Start here. What the kit is and isn't, your first hour, how states differ on notaries, witnesses, agent acknowledgments and recording, and where a rule couldn't be confirmed.
- Signing checklist by state. Before, at and after the signing, plus every state's notary, witness, agent, recording and healthcare signing rule, the official forms, and the official page for each.
- Agent duties and record-keeping guide. What state laws and official pages say an agent owes the principal, how to sign as agent, records that hold up, and when to stop and ask a lawyer.
- Agent's transaction log. Printable transaction pages with running totals, a list of the accounts the agent manages, and a monthly check against statements.
