Who it is for
Families, executors-to-be and attorney staff organizing the signing of a will a lawyer has prepared or reviewed, and notaries who handle estate signings.
Not the right fit if
Not a will template and not legal advice; have a lawyer prepare or review your will. Several states' rules are marked unconfirmed with where to check.
Why it is different
- Covers all 50 states and DC from state legislature statute pages and county probate offices, checked November 2026.
- Leaves a rule blank rather than guess, and says which states we couldn't confirm.
- Not a will template: it organizes the signing and the original, and sends will questions to a lawyer.
What is inside
- Will signing tracker (Excel). Pick the state for its witness count and self-proving rule, list the testator, witnesses and notary, and get a Ready check that flags a missing witness, a beneficiary witness, an unchecked ID or no notary.
- Start here. What the kit is and isn't (not a will template), your first hour, and the states where no rule could be confirmed.
- Signing-day checklist by state. Before, on and after signing day, plus every state's witness, beneficiary-witness, self-proving, handwritten and remote rules with the official link.
- Witness information sheet. What to tell each witness, who shouldn't witness, and a record page for up to three witnesses.
- Original-will storage and location record. Where the original is, copies, any court deposit, and everyone who has been told where it is.
