Who this is for
Owners starting a new New Jersey LLC, or moving a side business into one, who want the setup done in the right order and the books ready on day one. It fits freelancers, contractors, consultants and shops that do not want to piece it together from search results.
What we do
We walk you through gathering what the state filing asks for and entering it in the state's online system with you, so you review everything before it goes in. We help you get your EIN from the IRS, which is free: be careful of sites that charge for it. We give you a short checklist for opening a business bank account, and we set up your books with a chart of accounts that suits your type of business, in QuickBooks, Xero or Excel.
If you have an operating agreement, we can have it notarized, in person or by remote online notarization. If you do not have one yet, that is a legal document to be drafted by you or your attorney, and we can notarize it once it is ready.
What stays with you
You make the decisions that belong to the owner: the company name, who the members are and how the business will be taxed. State filing fees go to the state and are separate from our fee. Your LLC also needs a registered agent with a New Jersey address, and a yearly report to the state. We explain both and help you keep the report on your calendar.
How it is priced
A fixed price quoted in writing before we start, so you know what is included. It is separate from monthly bookkeeping, which is optional.
What we do not do
We are not lawyers and do not give legal advice. We do not choose your business structure or tell you how to be taxed; a tax professional or attorney should answer that. We do not act as your registered agent, and we cannot promise how long the state will take to approve a filing.
Common questions
Can you tell me whether an LLC is right for me?
That is a legal and tax question, so it is best answered by an attorney or a tax professional. Once you have decided, we help with the setup.
Do I have to pay for an EIN?
No. The IRS issues EINs for free. Some websites charge a fee to apply for you, and you do not need them.
Do I need monthly bookkeeping after setup?
No. Setup stands on its own. Many owners start monthly bookkeeping because the books are ready from day one.
Can the operating agreement be notarized online?
Usually yes, when every signer can be identified and the receiving party accepts it. Our remote online notarization page explains how it works.
