Bookkeeping project
Contractor and restaurant books setup
These businesses break generic bookkeeping. Contractors need profit by job. Restaurants need daily sales, tips and food cost. We set up the structure so your reports answer those questions.
For contractors who need job costing and restaurants that need daily sales and cost control.
What you get
- A chart of accounts built for your trade, with job or location tracking
- For contractors: job costing, progress billing, deposits and retainage handled in a consistent way
- For restaurants: daily sales entry from your point-of-sale reports, tips, tax collected and delivery-app payouts
- Payroll accounts and liabilities set up so they tie to your payroll reports
- Reports for profit by job, or for food cost and labor as a share of sales
- A monthly routine and a training session for you or your staff
What we need from you
- Access to your accounting software and bank statements
- Your point-of-sale, job management or payroll reports
- A list of current jobs or menu categories
- Your payroll provider's contact or reports
- Your CPA's input on how you want revenue recognized
How it works
- Learn how the money flows. Jobs, payments, payouts and who touches the cash.
- Design the structure. Accounts, classes or locations, and items.
- Build the routines. How sales, bills and payroll get recorded each week.
- Load and check. Bring in the history we agree on and reconcile.
- Train and hand off. Walk through the month-end routine.
What this is not
- We do not decide how you recognize revenue for tax. Your CPA does.
- We do not run payroll or give employment law advice.
- We do not manage your estimates, bids or menu pricing.
- We do not give licensing or compliance advice for your trade or your restaurant.
Price
Starting at $600 one time.
Your written scope sets the final price before any work starts. What moves it: locations and how much job-cost history is loaded. If we are not the right fit, we say so.

Questions
Do you work with my point-of-sale system?
We work from its reports or exports. We confirm the approach when we scope the job.
Can you track profit by job?
Yes, once costs are coded to jobs. The setup makes that routine.
What about tips?
We set up accounts so tips collected and paid out are visible and tie to payroll. How tips are treated for tax is a question for your CPA.
Can you keep the books afterward?
Yes, as monthly bookkeeping. See the service levels page.
