How it works
How it works
Gross commission is the sale price times your commission rate, or a flat amount if you enter one. Your share is the gross times your split percentage, and the brokerage keeps the rest. Subtract any transaction fee, a referral fee (as a percent of the gross) and other deductions to get your net. Your own brokerage agreement controls how fees are applied; some are taken before the split.
FAQ
About this calculator
Are fees taken before or after the split?
It depends on your brokerage agreement. This calculator takes the split first and then subtracts fees from your share, so check your agreement.
Is the net my taxable income?
No. You also have business expenses and taxes. Ask a tax professional.
Does a cap change the numbers?
Yes. Some agreements cap what the brokerage keeps in a year. This calculator does not model a cap.
Is anything saved?
No. It runs in your browser and nothing you enter is sent to us.
