How it works
How it works
A payout is gross sales, less refunds, processing fees, disputes lost and dispute fees, plus disputes won and any other adjustment. The bank sees only that net number, which is why deposits rarely equal sales.
Take the figures for one payout from the processor's payout or reconciliation report, not from the bank. If the deposit does not match, the usual reason is timing: a charge, refund or dispute that belongs to a different payout.
FAQ
About this calculator
Why doesn't my Stripe deposit match my sales?
Because the processor pays out sales less refunds, fees and disputes, often for charges from several days. Reconcile each payout to its report, then the deposit matches.
Should I record the deposit or the gross sales?
Record gross sales and the fees and refunds separately. Recording only the net deposit understates both your sales and your fees.
What is a clearing account?
A holding account where processor activity is recorded before the payout reaches the bank. After each payout is booked in full, it should return to zero.
Is anything saved?
No. The math runs in your browser and nothing you enter is sent to us.
