How it works
How it works
Total earnings are fares or delivery pay plus tips. Earnings per mile is total earnings divided by business miles, and per hour is total earnings divided by hours online. Net is earnings minus the fuel and other costs you enter. If you enter a mileage rate in cents, the calculator also shows miles times that rate. Enter the current rate from irs.gov yourself; this tool does not assume one.
FAQ
About this calculator
Which miles count?
Miles driven for the business. Which miles are deductible, and how, is a tax question. Ask a tax professional and keep a log.
Why show net as well as earnings?
Fuel and tolls come out of what you take home, so earnings per mile alone can hide a thin shift.
Is the mileage deduction a tax figure?
No. It is simply miles times the rate you enter. The rules and the rate change, so check irs.gov and a tax professional.
Is anything saved?
No. It runs in your browser and nothing you enter is sent to us.
