Who this is for
New businesses opening their first set of books, and owners who started in a spreadsheet or a rushed file and want it done properly. It also fits owners who already pay for QuickBooks but never set it up beyond the defaults.
What we do
We create or review your company file and build a chart of accounts that suits your type of business, then connect your bank and card accounts and set the rules that sort the common transactions. We set up the opening balances you give us, your products and services, invoicing and payment options, and sales tax if you collect it. We also set up the standard reports you will use each month.
We then walk you through the setup on a call, show you the weekly and monthly routine, and write down how the file is organized so you or a bookkeeper can pick it up later.
What we need from you
Access to your QuickBooks Online file or a plan to start one, a list of your bank and card accounts, any opening balances and, if you are moving over, your old records. You keep control: you hold the admin login and we work as an invited user.
Price, scope and limits
A fixed price quoted in writing before we start. How long it takes depends on how many accounts you have and how ready your information is, so we agree the scope first rather than promise a day. Monthly bookkeeping afterwards is optional.
What we do not do
We are not your CPA and we do not give tax advice. We do not choose your business structure or file your tax returns. If your existing books have errors, setup does not fix past periods; that is a cleanup project and we will tell you so.
Common questions
Do I need to already have QuickBooks?
No. We can help you choose a plan and start the file, or set up one you already pay for. You hold the subscription and the admin login.
Can you move me over from Excel or another program?
Yes, within the scope we agree. We bring over opening balances and, where it makes sense, list data. Years of old transactions are a separate migration project.
Do you set up payroll?
We can connect payroll data to your books and set up the accounts for it. The payroll service itself is run by the provider you choose.
Will the books be correct after setup?
Setup builds the structure and the rules. The books are only as accurate as the transactions in them, so we recommend a monthly review.
Is the price fixed?
Yes, once we agree the scope in writing. If the scope changes, we tell you before any extra work.
