FAQ
About this calculator
When do I use a weighted average?
When items matter by different amounts, such as an average cost of inventory bought at different prices, or grades with different credit hours.
Do weights have to add to 100?
No. Any positive weights work, because the calculator divides by the total.
Can I use commas or tabs?
Yes. Separate the value and weight with a comma, tab or semicolon.
Is anything saved?
No. The math runs in your browser and nothing you enter is sent to us.
