How it works
How it works
Each grade is worth points (A is 4.0, B is 3.0, C is 2.0, D is 1.0, F is 0, with plus and minus steps). GPA = total of (points x credits) divided by total credits. To add an earlier record, enter your GPA and credits so far.
Example: an A in a 3 credit course (12 points), a B+ in a 4 credit course (13.2 points) and a B in a 2 credit course (6 points) give 31.2 points over 9 credits, a GPA of 3.47. If you had 3.2 over 60 credits, the cumulative GPA is (31.2 + 192) / 69 = 3.23.
FAQ
About this calculator
Which scale does it use?
A 4.0 scale with A at 4.0, A- at 3.7, B+ at 3.3 and so on. Some schools score an A+ higher or use different plus and minus values, so check your school's scale for official numbers.
Does it handle weighted or honors GPAs?
No. It uses the standard unweighted scale. Weighted systems add points for honors and AP courses and vary by school.
How do I enter a pass or withdrawn course?
Leave it out. Pass and withdrawn grades usually do not count toward GPA.
Is this my official GPA?
No. Your school computes the official figure. This is an estimate for planning.
Is anything saved?
No. The math runs in your browser and nothing you enter is sent to us.
