FAQ
About this calculator
What is the difference between gross and net yield?
Gross yield ignores costs. Net yield subtracts yearly costs such as tax, insurance and repairs, so it is closer to what you keep.
What does the gross rent multiplier tell me?
How many years of gross rent equal the price. A lower number means the property costs less relative to its rent.
Do these include vacancy?
No. Subtract expected vacancy from rent or add it to costs for a more realistic figure.
Is anything saved?
No. The math runs in your browser and nothing you enter is sent to us.
Is this tax or financial advice?
No. It is a calculator for general information. Check the numbers against your own records, and ask an accountant before you act on them.
