How it works
How it works
Gifts are the number of people times the amount per person. Add travel, food and hosting, decorations and cards, events, charity and anything else for the total. Subtract what you have already set aside, then divide the rest by the months or weeks left to see the amount to save. Compare the total with what you spent last year if you can find it.
FAQ
About this calculator
How much should I spend?
There is no standard amount. Choose a total you can afford without borrowing, then split it among the categories.
What gets left out most often?
Shipping, wrapping, travel and extra groceries.
What if I go over?
Cut the list or the per-person amount first, not the total.
Is anything saved?
No. The math runs in your browser and nothing you enter is sent to us.
