Search result preview
Type your page title and description and see about how they'll look in Google, and whether they're likely to be cut off.
How it works
How to use it
Enter the page address, title and meta description. The preview shows a computer and a phone version and measures the width of your title and description. Google cuts by width, not letter count, so wide letters use up room faster. Google may also rewrite what you wrote, so treat the preview as a guide.
FAQ
About the preview
How long should a title be?
Google cuts titles by width, not by letters, at about 600 pixels on a computer. Roughly 50 to 60 characters usually fit, and wide letters take more room.
How long should a description be?
About 150 to 160 characters usually shows in full. Google may also write its own snippet from the page, so the preview is a guide, not a promise.
Will Google show exactly what I write?
Not always. Google often rewrites titles and descriptions to match the search. A clear, accurate title and description still give it the best material to work with.
Is my text saved?
No. The preview is made in your browser and nothing is sent to us.
